I had a lot of fun

Hi there, how are you?  Now, you know, most of us started to work in a real workplace so I

understand we are facing one of the hardest moments that we have ever experienced in Australia.  For
me, I'm working at a Hotel called Adina in front of the Central Station as a receptionist.  It is much

harder than I expected.  But I hope this is the biggest chance to get better at English.

Today, I'm gonna talk about what I learned from this studying abroad.

Before I came here, I had decided one big goal, "Interacting many people as much as possible."  In

the end, it was Japanese people who I did actively (haha) but I made many close friends here.

Basically, I'm shy. You know, I like new poeple to talk to me positively so it took a long time for me

to be active enough to make friends.  Even now I sometimes envy my friends who have loads of

foreign friends.

Recently, I've got a new friend who used to be my classmate last session at the icte.  Apparently, she

looks like innocent and optimistic. But she is a good listener, I think.  I oftenconsulted with her about

my problems such as grades, friend relationship and also my girlfriend.  Shewas serious (sometimes

too optimistic lol)  I'm so glad to meet her through this studying abroad. she would be my close

friend.  Hence what I want to say is that, even in other country, we could meet our buddy.

Technically, I should have made native speakers' friend to practice my English skill lol  But I

don't need many.  One or two is enough for me.

Now I'm so satisfied with my flatmate who is from Taiwan.  It seems his spoken English is not so

perfect.  But I'd like to respect his attitide toward practicing English.  Even if he is not understood by

everyone due to his poor English, he never gives up.  He is also optimistic.

What I learned through this long span is I can still learn a lot from my friends even in other nation.

Hang in there everyone until Internship is done.

What will be will be.

Get over with it quickly and  go back to our country, JAPAN

Sunday 9 October 2016

Hi, guys!!  I think most of you guys went to the Carins and got burned!! haha  Be careful not to get

disease when you become elderly!!   That aside, Great Barrier Reef was awesome and I want to go

back there again in the future.  TMI lol

For now, I'd like to discuss the cultural differences between Japan and Australia in terms of business,

talking about my trip, Carins.

when I decided to go there, I was also dying to sign up for a tour of Great Barrier Reef  because that

was what I wanted to do in Australia.  So I signed up for a tour to an uninhabited island called

Frankland.  On the day, when I waited for a navigator in the morning, one Japanese female picked up

me.  She started to explain about the content of the tour in Japanese, not English.  And she kept

explaining fluently it for another Australian people in English.  I was surprised because she was so

fluent in English and worked as a translator.  I felt she was alien cuz there were not any other

Japanese staffs on the tour.  Yes, she was only Japanese female working on that tour.  Basically in

Japan, there are not good translators on the tour.  In my opinion, usually, Japanese tour does not

consider about foreign visitors in terms of language.  That is why, personally, Japan will need to

focus on the help for foreign visitors in order to serve more comfortable tour.  And more and more

young people might be asked to get  a high skill of English to communicate with foreign people.

Therefore I'm studying English now haha.

That's it. Thank you.

Legend Story

Hi, guys!๐Ÿ‰  How is your English coming alone?  I miss Japan so bad now...
Last break, I visited Sydney with yumiko and went to loads of various places like limestone cave, aquarium, and of course Opera house.  I had a lot of fun!   Specifically, I went to "Three sisters."  What I expect you to do is to visit there, "Theee sisters."  Maybe you have heard of this but don't know the legend story of this.  If you don't mind read a long, long story, read it by all means.

Once upon a time, a family excluding mother lived by cliff.  The father had a magic stick so he could spell anything.  In fact, they were so afraid of a formidable monster living at bottom of the cliff, hiding from it.  One day the father went to forest to hunt animals for dinner and the three sisters stayed their house.  At the same time, a wolf came to their house and ambushed them suddenly.  They  tried to fight back and threw stones against the wolf.  However, one of the stones they threw were mistakenly thrown into the monster's house, which led him to wake up and get angry.  While he was about to eat sisters, the father heard so them scream and cry for help and realized they were being attacked by the monster.  Although he tried to save them, he thought not in time.  So he used the magic stick, hexed sisters and changed them into three big stones.  Subsequently, of course, the monster tried to attack the father but, he hexed himself and changed into a bird and escaped from monster.  Unfortunately, he dropped his own magic stick and lost while flying.  It means the three sisters will never be changed as a human forever.  And the stick still remains somewhere in the blue mountain...

What a sad story๐Ÿ˜ข
But I think personally the father should have changed the monster with stone, not spelling sisters.
He wouldn't have  lost his important sisters if he did so.
Am I right??

I'm looking forward to you guys comment〜๐Ÿ˜Ž

ICTE 's good point

Hello, everyone.  How was your IELTS test??
I hope that everyone can go there ๐Ÿ™
From now, I wanna talk about difference of educating English between ICTE and Japanese school.
What's the biggest difference between two category is that we have a lot of kinds of nationalities in a class.  For example, in my class, there is Korean, Chinese, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Colombia, and so on.  I think I'm so lucky because I can know how diffent they have their own way of thinking.  It's one of the most important key to understand their culture.  So, I'm often convinced their thought.  Specifically, Columbia students show us such a wonderful concept which is totally different from ours.  For instance,  on the class, my teacher often ask us to answer about whether our privacy is under control of the government or not.  Then, all of them answered "No" just because they don't care about their life.  Of course, not anyone always says so.  However, when I heard this last week, I was so impressed on them that I had an effect on their way of thinking.  In addition to this, teachers are very various from Japanese ones.  It's that when compared to Japanese teachers, ICTE teachers are familiar with IELTS.  That's why, they often try to do their best in order to let us learn ropes more and more.  In last session, I always asked a favor to my last teacher to proofread my writing.  He was willing to do that and advice me a lot of things.

To sum up, now I feel I'm living in a fantastic way.  I have never happier and more alive in my life!๐Ÿ˜‹

What is the interesting and surprising difference between Japan and Australia.

Hi, everyone ๐Ÿ˜Ž
How is your Enhlish coming along?? As to me, it seems to need more practices about speaking...๐Ÿ˜‡
Incidentally, I have to talk about the most interesting and surprising difference between Japan and Australia!

Let me see…One of the most surprising differences is that there are really many foreign people in Australia!!  I felt Australia is one of the most international cites in the world because I often see Chinese, Italian, American, and also Japanese in the city.  That's why, I thought many kinds of nationalities are mixed and working here with speaking English, which inspired me doramatically ๐Ÿฃ
In Japan, perhaps we don't often see different nationalities.  Just in my opinion, Japan may become such a big and international country in the near future after 2020, Olympic game.

Also, my friends who has another nationality are very fluent in Japanese!  I asked him"Why can you speak Japanese so fluently?" he just answered "Because I love it."   When I heard it, I was so glad that I was proud of my country. This is my second interesting incident.  Some foreign students love Japan very much.  They made a effort themselves and got a adequate skill to speak Japanese.  I would understand if they study English because now English has becoming one of the common language around the world.  I didn't think Japanese was so popular among them.  On the other hand, Japanese people tend to learn only English for their job.  It is a little bit pity that they are interested in only English.  We should have a look at things from different angle.  What I mean is we had better being interested in not only language but also anything related to the world.

Ok, it's time to go to bed now.  I finish around here.
See you later!๐Ÿ˜‹

First diary for me

Hello, everybody!

My name's Shinya Ishida✌️
From today, we gotta keep a dairy every month!

That's why, I wanna write something interesting to review after studying abroad.

By the way, we have to take "Final Exam" next week and get a good score in four exams, writing,

speaking, reading, and listening.  In fact, I'm worried about listening because I'm not good at

listening.  (Which ways are you not good at?)

To practice my listening skill, I make a point of watching news on the TV and "TED."

However, I can't still get any progresses partly because it's too fast for me to listen to English and

there are not any scripts…๐Ÿ˜ฅ
Therefore, please give me good advices about improving listening skill๐Ÿค”
If things didn't change and still keep going, I wouldn't get 6.5 on the IELTS .

Come on my friends…๐Ÿ™138

Change the topic about study with my new life in another country๐Ÿ‘ฎ

Actually, I had never been to any foreign countries in my life!  So I'm surprised with everything

everyday, for example, in Australia, commodity price is much more expensive than Japan.  But,

sometimes it's much cheaper than Japan.  For instance, I watched a Disney movie the other day.

It cost me just only 7dollars to watch a movie!๐Ÿ‘(whereas I couldn't understand what they meant because, as I said, I'm not good at listening English.)

I don't know the reason why it's  so dirt cheap here.  In my opinion,  it may not include the tax of

translation.   Also, crows are different from Japanese one in that they have white eyes. And "sushi" is

a little bit more expensive than I expect.

Anyway, What I want to say is I'm enjoying my new learning a new culture which is different from

ours!๐Ÿ‰  I'm looking forward to having a chance of meeting new people from now.
